Join an exciting lecture by Jean Stern on Post-Impressionism at the Hilbert Temporary, located at 216 E. Chapman Ave in downtown Orange. This event will take place on Wednesday, June 28 at 6 p.m., so be sure to secure your seat early as seating is extremely limited, with only 40 seats available.
Admission to the lecture is $10, and it is free for Chapman students, faculty, and staff. Jean Stern, director emeritus of The Irvine Museum and a renowned art history expert, will delve into the world of Post-Impressionism and its differences from Impressionism. Through a visually engaging presentation, he will compare the two styles, highlight the key modifications made in Post-Impressionism, and introduce the leading figures of this new artistic movement.
Discover the fascinating philosophy and approaches of the Fauves, one of the movements contributing to the development of modern art. With approximately 80 slides, the lecture will last about 45 minutes, followed by a question-and-answer session. Don't miss this opportunity to expand your knowledge of art history and gain insights into the evolution of artistic styles.
While you're at the Hilbert Temporary, take the chance to explore the current exhibitions, including "AMERICAN STORIES: Midcentury Magazine Illustrations from The Hilbert Collection" and "Disney at 100: MICKEY MOUSE." The temporary location serves as a home for the Hilbert Museum while its permanent venue undergoes expansion. The Hilbert Temporary is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission is free.
